Description

Position Summary

Perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, administrative and office support activities for the Accounting department.

Essential Job Functions

  • Code invoices from the chart of accounts and input into computer for payment.
  • Prepare A/P checks for signatures.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Research any and all discrepancies within the Accounts Payable field.
  • Accurately match Purchase Orders to packing slips and invoices.
  • Research discrepancies between Purchase Orders and Receivers and notify appropriate Lead or Supervisory personnel of findings.
  • Perform other various Accounting and or Clerical duties which may be required and as directed by Supervisor.
  • Position requires professional daily interaction with various departments.
  • Maintain files.
  • Open and stamp daily departmental mail.
  • Assist with Balance Sheet Account reconciliations of Balance Sheet control accounts and other accounts such as; Accounts Payable Aging Report, Received Goods not yet invoiced by Vendors (RGNI), Prepayments and Accruals, and Vendor Deposits.
  • Duties will require continuous sitting with occasional walking, standing, and the climbing of stairs as well as the repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing, pulling and reaching for and accessing file cabinet drawers and other documents.
  • Materials that may be lifted and or carried may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Keep work area organized, clean and safe.
  • Work flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.
  • Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and safety rules. Including working the core work hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:45 pm.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with A/R and A/P.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit a professional and friendly attitude; processing incoming telephone calls in a polite manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality.
  • Organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks at one time.
  • Adequate computer skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to operate a ten key calculator.
  • Ability to work with and meet deadlines.

Other Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Experience using Solomon accounting software.
  • Associate‚Äôs Degree or college coursework in Accounting

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is a production floor setting and is usually noisy and dusty. It does not always maintain a consistent temperature but is dry. Noise levels are moderate to high with chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted. Work may occasionally be performed outdoors or while docked at a marina.

Safety Requirements

  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, chemical resistant Tyvek clothing, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
  • Maintain and participates in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
  • Hazardous materials are used in the production process. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations and MSDS locations in areas they work or visit on Company property.
