Summary:
The Benefits Coordinator is the main point of contact for employees in regards to benefits provided. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, etc. The position also supports the HR Manager with new employee onboarding, maintaining employee personnel files.
Essential Job Functions:
- Retain knowledge of current regulations and government changes for all benefits.
- Assist with the maintenance of personnel files and the HRIS including the processing of employment status changes.
- Assist employees with questions in regards to participation in provided benefits as well as the completion of forms as needed.
- Annual open enrollment and new hire benefits communication.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and sufficient mathematical skills to perform the essential job functions as outlined.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work with and meet deadlines.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to commute between Port Angeles & Westport WA a few times per month.
- Prior experience administering or overseeing a 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan.
- Willing to work occasional overtime as needed.
- Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and safety rules.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the accounting/payroll department.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Annual 401k audits
- Accurate annual 1094/1095 preparation
- Monthly eligibility audits
- Garnishment/Child Support processing
- Experience working in Human Resources or Payroll.
- Experience with Sage HRMS or other HRIS.
Safety Requirements:
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
- Maintain and participates in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
- Hazardous materials are used in the production process. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations and SDS locations in areas they work or visit on Company property.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is an indoor, climate controlled office with occasional visits to the production floor where there is some exposure to chemical odors, dust and loud noise.
Total Compensation:Wage range: $25.00– $31.73 per hour depending on experience & qualifications.
