Summary:

Create electrical designs, drawings and modeling following standard engineering practice.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Create new and modify existing models of parts and assemblies for systems.
  • Create new and modify existing part, assembly and installation drawings for final designs per ASME Y14.100.
  • Create new and modify existing 2D (AutoCAD) schematics, layouts and arrangements.
  • Create new and modify existing engineering Bill of Materials.
  • Process engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Working with and having general knowledge of AC/DC power systems (3-phase, transformers), Breaker coordination, Switch gear design, Control circuit design, PLC + HMI maintenance and development, Communication protocols (RS485, Canbus, ModBus RTU/TCP, RS232), Automation Direct PLC, Productivity PLCs, Direct LogicPLC, Controls, Commissioning and start up in field, AutoCAD, Load calculations and analysis, Digital and Analog IO systems, Panel/Enclosure layout, VFD configuration setup, Automation
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years experience with the job functions above.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.100.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing tools and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Additional Job Functions:
  • Ability and basic knowledge to assist other areas of design to support the production facilities (i.e. mechanical, joinery, AV/NAV, structures, etc)
Other Preferred Skills / Abilities:
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of generators and power convertors.
  • Knowledge of industrial motor controls

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is a production floor setting and is usually noisy and dusty. It does not always maintain a consistent temperature but is dry. Noise levels are moderate to high with some chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted.
