Summary:
Position Summary:
Material Handler/Forklift driver is a production support position. This position is essential to ensuring efficient delivery of goods and services to all production departments in a safe and timely manner
Essential Job Functions:
- Deliver, transport, stock, organize, load and unload various materials using a propane forklift, electric high lift, pallet jack or hand truck.
- Do general Material Handling duties, encompassing any tasks instructed by Supervisor.
- Use a forklift to dump material waste and manage overall garbage disposal and placement into large 40-yard containers.
- Assist with stocking and delivery of chemicals to include MEK, Acetone, Denatured Alcohol, Kerosene and other chemicals and their appropriate containers. This will require maneuvering full 475 pound drums with drum cart within production buildings and for placement on to pallets or storage racks.
- Will also maintain stock of lumber, resins, putties and other materials stocked on racks, carts, shelves, etc.
- Previous forklift driving experience.
- Valid Washington driver’s license.
- Able to work in various weather conditions, day and/or night.
- All duties will require frequent bending, sitting, twisting and repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation, with occasional reaching above shoulder level, walking, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
- Materials, tools and equipment that will need to be lifted and or carried may weigh up to 55 pounds.
- Maintain and participate in keeping work area, shop, tools and equipment clean and safe.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions and ask questions for clarification.
- Communicate as needed with co-workers.
- Ability to complete and maintain Haz Mat training.
- All duties require frequent sitting, walking, standing, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and the repetitive and fine manipulation of hands for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, as well as occasional stair climbing.
Other Preferred Skills / Abilities:
- Previous experience and familiarity with job responsibilities in a production facility is preferred.
- Basic computer skills
Safety Requirements:
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
- Maintain and participates in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
- Hazardous materials are used in the production process. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations and SDS locations in areas they work or visit on Company property.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is a production floor setting and is usually noisy and dusty. It does not always maintain a consistent temperature but is dry. Noise levels are moderate to high with some chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted.
Total Compensation:
Wage range: $17.50– $21.50 per hour depending on experience & qualifications.
