REFIT NOTES
In 2001 the boat underwent a complete restoration in Southern England by an experienced Owner/Boat Builder. Details of this refit are hard to come by, but a huge amount of good quality work was done including to the structure, new deck, new rig , new deck furniture, and so forth. In 2014 the owners decided to give her a new lease of life, and sent Tigris to the famous Brittany yard of Chantier du Guip in Brest. Renowned for their expertise in all aspects of wooden boat construction, they proceeded to strengthen and upgrade her structure. This work included, amongst other items: Rebuilding the stem; fabrication and fitting of new bronze floors; replacing the mast step with a new one in laminated Iroko, with stainless steel strengthening ; re-building parts of the bulwarks; dismantling and rebuilding interior bulkheads; removal and rebuilding of the rudder and rudder tube; renewing of through-hull valves; changing the position of the engine.
