Job Title: CNC Supervisor
Department: Cabinet Shop
Job Location: Port Angeles, Washington
Shift Times: Start: 7:00am / End: 3:45pm
Summary:
Hands on experienced CNC operator/coder/programmer to direct and oversee CNC employees to ensure the completion of assigned tasks on schedule, within budget and at the required level of quality in the production of Westport luxury yachts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Participate in planning, scheduling and assigning work tasks to employees.
- Ensure that equipment and supplies are available to complete tasks assigned.
- Inspect work as necessary to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Instruct employees in use of proper documentation, tools and techniques.
- Resolve problems that may interfere with production.
- Explain, model and enforce company policies and safety rules.
- Participate in hiring, rewarding, disciplining and terminating activities with Management and Human Resources as appropriate.
- Collect data, keep records and report progress to Management as required.
- Manage employees in the Time Clock system to ensure that they are properly paid.
- Communicate employee issues and concerns to Management.
- Support other Westport Supervisors and Managers
- Utilize CAD, CAM and other software tools to collect, organize, troubleshoot and disseminate information.
- Communicate programming priorities and production schedules with the production manager, supervisors and employees.
- Communicate design schemes and troubleshoot problems through interaction with design team and production personnel.
- Move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation required.

Additional Job Functions:
- Requires working knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC part programming.
- 2-4 years of experience with strong skills in AutoCAD or SolidWORKS.
- Basic math, reading and communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions.
- Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and safety rules.
- Expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.
Other Preferred Skills / Abilities:
- Prior Supervisory experience.
- Prior experience in boat-building.
Safety Requirements:
This is a safety sensitive position. Any offer of employment is contingent on negative pre-emploment drug screen results including marijuana and THC products.
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, chemical resistant Tyvek clothing, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
- Maintain and participate in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
- Hazardous materials are used in the production process. Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations and SDS locations in areas they work or visit on Company property.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to repetitively use hands and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. The work environment is a production floor setting and is usually noisy and dusty. Noise levels are moderate to high with chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted. Work may occasionally be performed outdoors or while docked at a marina.
Total Compensation:
Wage range: $24.00– $36.00 per hour depending on experience & qualifications.
