Diesel: 20,000 U.S. gallons in multiple tanks with transfer system including two pumps, meter and distribution manifold. Engines draw from the day tank, (tank 4C) which is filled through two fuel separators, and if necessary, by way of a filtered by-pass. Fueling by three deck fills: one amidships, starboard side and tow aft. All tanks are vented to atmosphere on the port side. Fresh water is taken aboard at port/starboard deck fittings and at the aft Main Deck and through a pressurized dock connection. Water filtered for particulates /microorganisms is distributed through Mepla insulated piping by dual centrifugal pumps with DC back-up. Pressure tanks assist in a surge free action. Hot water comes quickly from three hot water tanks and a hot water circulation ring. Freshwater is generated on board by dual reverse osmosis water makers and stored in stainless steel baffled tanks

Deck fills: (2) Stainless steel 1 ½" round with threaded caps

Pressure connection: Stainless w/pressure reducer to prevent over- pressurization; UV filters: (2) for disinfection of potable water, 30 gpm max, each

Fire Fighting Equipment is available at six stations (two pumps) throughout the vessel. Each station contains a hose, angle valve and high/low volume nozzle

The primary electric fire pump can be started from any fire station, the Pilothouse, or locally.s

Hoses: (7) 1 ½” x 50” FM listed lay flat type, NPSH thread

Fire Nozzles: ABS Approved, one at each of the 6 hydrant stations

Primary Pump: Centrifugal, flooded suction, 66gpm

Back-up: Diesel powered, portable, flooded suction centrifugal

Strainer: Sea suction strainer for fire/bilge manifold (Bronze 2” Y strainer, or equivalent)

Seawater Intake: Bronze with bronze grate

Hose Rack: FRP, for rolled hose storage at fire stations

Pressurized Fire Sprinkler System draws at first from the ship’s fresh water supply, then if necessary, automatically switches to seawater. Two pumps, react individually or in tandem depending on demand as determined by the number of heat sensitive nozzles triggered. A sprinkler local control panel is found in the Engine Room. A mimic display (via vessel monitoring system) is located in the Pilothouse. The system is low pressure, pre-charged and automatic, copper/Nickel (CuNi) tube with Seapress (Viega) or similar, crimp fittings. A small pressure tank maintains stand-by pressure.  Pumps updated to D.P. pumps

Engine Room Fire System: An FM 200 gas smothering system protects the Engine Room. Engine Room and ventilation ducts are insulated against thermal conductivity, meets: A-30 rating/sound dampening

The FM200 system is manually activated. After a 34 second delay, the system discharges fire retarding gas over the entirety of Engine Room and prior to gas discharge, shuts down fuel units, intake fans, and exhaust dampers

Automatic Fireboy - provides fire protection for the Control Room Distribution Panel and is located top center of the panel. Fire Boy also operates manually by removing the pin and pulling the handle

Galley Hood Fire System: A small wet-chemical system protects the grills and warming oven in the Galley. The system discharges automatically when exposed to high temperatures. A manual pull station near the exit will also release the firefighting agent

Insulation: The bulkheads and ducts leading to the Engine Room are lined with a barrier of thermal insulation

HVAC SYSTEMS / AIR CONDITIONING

HVAC Systems/Air Conditioning maintains a comfortable temperature through the use of a seawater cooled/heated reverse cycle, treated water HVAC system. The chiller capacity is 45 tons. Temperature controlled water is distributed throughout the vessel via individual room air handlers of various sizes/BTU ratings. The entire system can be operated in either heat or cool modes. Individual air handlers in the Master/Guest Staterooms provide autonomous settings. The system replaces the fresh air lost through the head evacuation system. Fresh treated air is available through the Make-Up Air units

CENTRAL HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

CENTRAL HYDRAULIC SYSTEM is powered by a pump with electric clutches on port/starboard generators. Either generator can power the system; the bow/stern thrusters, winches, capstans, cranes/davits and transom door. Back-up fluid power is provided in the event of a failure in the steering primary hydraulic system. In the absence of the generators, a DC power pack covers for limited capability back-up functions

ELEVATOR and DUMBWAITER

Custom Elevator Manufacturing Company - roped hydraulic car. Servicing 4 decks: Lower Deck lobby between all the Guest Suites, Main Deck at Foyer/Galley (and ship’s exit), Lobby on Bridge Deck approximate to Bar/Lounge, and Sun Deck, center to all exterior activity. The Elevator is powered by a self-contained hydraulic power pack and controls. (Power pack located in Engine Room).  Major service completed in 2023

ELECTRIC SYSTEMS

ELECTRICITY: ALTERNATORS, GENERATORS, BATTERIES: (3) AC generators produce 120-208volt/3phase/60 cycle energy for the yacht. Two of them- the primary generators are on the port/starboard extremes of the Engine Room. The third generator; the night/secondary generator is mounted between the main engines. Starboard generator is fitted with dry stack “Y” option allowing the exhaust to be discharged above the Sun Deck. Otherwise engines exhaust through water flooded outlets at transom

AC AND DC DISTRIBUTION

AC DISTRIBUTION is by the three aforementioned generators or AC power from shore. Shore power passes through electrical conditioners that accept various power forms: single phase, three-phase, combination, high or low frequency and converts them for ship’s use. All electrical energy is first routed to an electrical switchboard in the Control Room, then to sub-panels and individual loads. Circuits are protected by coordinated breakers. The main electrical system is 4 wire, 3 phase 208 volts with 120 volt single phase branch circuits where required

DC DISTRIBUTION: (16) AGM type accumulator batteries and chargers supply 24VDC power. 12VDC is via DC/DC converters. The power is distributed from the main switchboard located in the Control Room to sub-panels throughout the vessel. Emergency DC power, and is distributed independently of the main distribution network and serves vital systems

VESSEL ALARMS AND MONITORING

The vessel’s monitoring system is designed on a “last man standing” principle, based on a 24-volt redundant, fail-safe architecture, composed of ABS classed hardware and dedicated Human-Machine Interface touch-screens. A single point Alarm Management screen in the Pilothouse and five remote HMI screens located throughout the ship provide superlative alarm recognition and offer the following advantages:

MECHANICAL SPACE

Engine Room: Access is through two watertight doors; one from Equipment Room and another from Control Room. The Engine Room is equipped with a workbench and sink with hot and cold supplied water

Control Room: Enter either from the Swim Step-port side, through a Pacific Coast Marine watertight door, or a stairway down from the Aft Deck bar. Another watertight door within the Control Room connects to the Engine Room. The room contains a desk, stereo/CD player and speakers, electrical distribution, RJ45 and RS45 network jacks, service port, tool and spare parts storage, and head/sink
