Summary:

Prepare and apply various finish coatings to trim work and cabinet interior/exterior to the specifications required for each finish application

Essential Job Functions:

• Mask, tape, wipe with surface cleaner and brush parts for sand preparation.
• Mix and apply primer, stain, sealer, epoxy, polyurethanes, paint, high build and/or top coats with brush or spray application to a high quality finish.

Requirements:

• Basic math, reading and communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions.
• Function as a part of an effective team.

Additional Job Functions:

• Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, ladder and stair climbing and occasional crawling, twisting, and lying.
• Maintain and participate in keeping personal work area, shop, paint booths and all tools clean, organized and safe.
• Must maintain excellent attendance.
• Expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs.

 

Other Preferred Skills / Abilities:

• Previous high end finish application and/or top coat spraying experience.
• Color matching paints and stains
• Airbrush application.
• High Gloss polishing.

Safety Requirements:

• • Production positions with Westport LLC are Safety Sensitive  – Any offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate’s negative pre-employment drug screen results (including marijuana & THC) results.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
  • Maintain and participates in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
  • Hazardous materials are used in the production process.  Employees must follow all safety guidelines and evacuation procedures; learn the location of first aid stations and how to read an SDS.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Total Compensation:

Wage range: $25.00– $28.00 per hour – Depending on experience and demonstration of skills
