ACCOMMODATIONS

Owner:  Owner’s cabin is located in the midship of the yacht where it is more stable and coincides with the Darin’s center of gravity. Darwin’s owners cabin is accessible through main salon via starboard side by climbing down stairs to lower deck area. Cabin has been positioned in front of the crew cabins, way forward of the engine room thus providing very silent and vibration free area. Owners cabin has king size bed in the center of the cabin with walk-in closet on the starboard side and vanity table on the port side. En-suite bathroom is located port forward area with openable portlights. Owners cabin also offers Hi-fi system, 33” LED TV , Sonos system and openable portlights.

Guests: Darwin has got 3 guest cabins , one VIP with double bed , one port double bed cabin and one starboard twin bedroom cabin ideal for families with babies and babysitter. All these cabin offers ample storage spaces, luxurious solid teak flooring along with teak veneered wall cladding and furnitures. En-suite bathrooms coupled with natural lightinh, openable portlights and fresh air generator cowlings are the main features of the guest areas.

Crew:  there are 2 crew cabins on Darwin accessible from the main galley down. Climbing down the stairs from the galley, hallway that incorporates the doors to the captain and crew cabin greets you. On the port side, double cabin ( one pullman can be integrated to raise the crew member to 4) with comfortable and spacious en-suite bathroom is the Captains cabin . On the starboard side, cascaded twin beds are positioned in the cabin to accommodate two crew members . Also the same size as the captains cabin’s en-suite bathroom is present.

Main Salon/dining:  Contemporary and cozy styled, very illuminated by the big windows and welcoming  main salon is divided by the cockpit with beautiful manually operated varnished teak door. Main skylight ( Deck prism I would call) with black out curtain is positioned right in the middle of the white lacquered loft style ceiling in the salon, taking advantage of the sun and daylight as much as possible. On the starboard side, Darwin’s main simple 6-seatied interior dining table is positioned. Teak-cladded flooring is present throughout Darwin as present in the main salon Across main salon, big library is facing aft is very calming and comforting.  

Design/style notes:  Darwin is designed by well known designer Tanju Kalaycioglu, who owns Taka Yacht design firm based in Istanbul. His most notable works is the Johnny Depp’s yacht 48mt. Vajoliroja later owned by J.K Rowling.  His commuter and semi displacement hull with plumb bow distinguishes her from the crowd and reaches 21 knots at full throttle with 2 x 1200HP MAN Engines.

Specific details not noted above:  Darwin also has potable water tank in the size of 300 lt that serves the guests on board with drinkable water from the tap in galley and also serves to icemakers. She has undergone 10 year survey in 2021 ( a year earlier than expected) and all equipment surveyed by RINA.

Specialty rooms (Cinema, Gym, Spa, Game Room, ect.) not noted above:

She has projection TV in the cockpit area serving as Cinema area in the night. Also, her cowlings provide fresh air into the cabins.  

EXTERIOR

Darwin has got classical commuter design blending in the modernistic touch from the pens of Tanju Kalaycioglu. She has got sleek design with plumb wave piercing bow.

DECKS

Aft Deck:   Darwin’s aft deck has U shaped sofa with addition of chairs accommodates up to 10 people at the same time to host dinners out in the open. Her beautiful varnished teak tabletop is the main design features of the area together with the sliding high gloss varnished teak door. Aft deck has seamless and uninterrupted entry into the main salon through the sliding doors. Aft deck also gives access to very wide walkways on the port and starboard side as well as stainless / teak combined stairs up to the flybridge.

Sundeck/Flybridge: Darwin’s spectacular and unmatched flybridge that host the 1000kg Opacmare crane along with 4,70 mt tender with very lightly used 150Hp Yamaha outboard and plenty of comfortable seating shaded by the stainless steel shading system. It also has secondary control station on the port side forward. Captain of Darwin also benefits from the plug and play portable steering station located on the aft side of the tender where it eases the maneuvering and act as the 3^rd control station. 

Foredeck: Foredeck host the beautiful high gloss varnished teak coffee table together with the seating in the back shaded by very stylish bimini. Looking aft from foredeck, one can not miss the look of state of the art search light, skylight and the cowlings.

BUILD

Darwin has been designed as semi- displacement economical commuter , perfect fit for Mediterranean cruising and her shallow draft of 1,87 mt. allows her to cruise in the shallow waters of the Caribbeans.

Notes about the yacht’s build: Darwin has got cold moded wooden hull reinforced with fiber clothing with Epoxy resin. It is one the most durable method of building the wooden hull that requires basically no maintenance in the life of the yacht. Her hull has got 30mm , first layer of Iroko strip plank plus 3 layers of 4mm Khaya ( Acajou) veneers laminated in different angles to give robust hull form. Frames are laminated Iroko. Massive laminated Iroko stem-keel-skeg , all one piece of sculpture. On top of all this wooden planks and veneers, exteriors are covered with e-glass woven cloth epoxy sheathed.  

REFIT(S)

• 10 year survey requested by RINA has been completed in 2021 a year earlier than expected which includes shaft and propeller tests, cutlass bearings removal, stern tube inspections, hull detailed inspections, all tanks inspections, over board valves servicing and removals, engine ang generators thorough inspections and servicing, stability checks, sfatey and fire fighting checks.
