SUMMARY

Built by SES Yachts to a design by Hoek, the full-custom 32.65m motoryacht Far Niente is a modern superyacht with classic lines, sophisticated style, and head-turning allure.

Launched in 2024, Far Niente was built to RINA Commercial classification and has already proved herself to be a popular charter option, completing her first season in the Mediterranean and more recently undertaking itineraries in Norway.

Far Niente was commissioned by an experienced British yachtsman who sought to cruise in more unusual locations and introduce a new concept to the charter fleet.

Her exterior lines were inspired by the North Sea Hering Luggers of the 1900s and she bears the elegant proportions that Hoek Yacht Design is famous for. Drawing on advanced fluid dynamics, tradition meets the 21st century with an optimised hull form that improves efficiency and comfort, with enhanced stabilisation underway and at-anchor.

Far Niente’s interior design was developed by the owners in collaboration with Hoek. Structural beams have purposely been left visible, which allows for head heights of 2.3 metres, and the interior adopts a distinctly contemporary look. Quarter-sawn grey washed oak has been used for the cabinetry, and light oak floorboards run underfoot. The resultant ambience is one of a calm simplicity, accented by oceanic blues.

This tri-deck motoryacht has accommodation for 10 guests in five cabins. The master suite is located forward on the main deck, and the four lower deck cabins are configured as two doubles and two twins. Further accommodation is provided for a complement of six crew.

The main saloon is arranged as two separate seating areas with a dining table for 10 between them. A second upper-deck saloon provides an additional and more intimate lounge space.

Exterior spaces include the spacious aft of the bridge deck, where meals can be served al fresco and uninterrupted views to the horizon enjoyed from the steamer chair loungers.

In testament to her unique aesthetic and quality, Far Niente was a finalist in the categories for Best Interior Design, Best Naval Architecture, and Best Exterior Design at the 2025 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.

Unlike true classics that struggle for volume, have high noise and vibration levels, and typically come with larger maintenance bills, Far Niente can boast all the latest operational, engineering and navigational systems, as well as stowage space for two 7-metre tenders plus water toys. She has a range of 2,000nm at her economical 9-knot cruising speed, and a top speed of 10.5 knots.

To top the yacht’s steel hull with a cold-moulded wooden composite superstructure, is an unusual combination but one that brings many advantages – it avoids any concern of corrosion, is of benefit to the overall weight, and it’s especially good for insulation, which makes it better than building in aluminium then cladding with teak.

Far Niente is offered for sale in immaculate condition by her original owner, and with low engine hours. This Dutch-design carries a noteworthy pedigree and will appeal to those who appreciate that maritime heritage and the modern superyacht lifestyle need not be mutually exclusive.

SPECIFICATIONS

ACCOMODATION:
Far Niente has a particularly attractive 5 x cabin layout which sleeps 10 guests in total. This being a very desirable charter yacht configuration, but also excellent for private use with 2 x families and more.

The master cabin is situated forward of the saloon on the main deck. A large central king size double bed has a 180 degree view thanks to the large square deckhouse windows which surround the cabin. Both the cabin and owners bathroom are beautifully appointed and styled (as with the rest of Far Niente’) in a white New England style with subtle pastel grey panelling, woodwork and furnishings. The owners cabin has a 43” Sky glass television on concealed electric lift

Below decks, and accessed via the central stairs in the saloon, are the remaining guest cabins. Here there are 4 x cabins sleeping 8 guests in total. Two of the cabins have permanent double beds with their own spacious bathrooms. The other two remaining cabins are twin single bed cabins which can also be pushed together to create double beds if required. These cabins are beautifully appointed and very much to the same styling as the owners cabin. They also have adjoining bathrooms.

MAIN SALOON:
Far Niente’s spacious main deck saloon is accessed through the twin opening varnished wooden doors aft. This large open plan saloon/dining area is superbly lit along the length of the room on both sides due to the copious amount of large pane windows either side. As a result the views across the anchorage are quite exceptional. The beautiful marble topped dining table seats 10 with ease and is central to the room. Here you can really appreciate the excellent views this room affords. Forward of the dining area is a sumptuous cosy lounging area with long L shaped sofa and ottoman. This is the ideal place to kickback and relax in front of the 50” television which has Sonos surround sound and is connected to the ships Starlink. Guests are free to stream as desired on demand.

MAIN DECK:
On deck the yachts explorer yacht credentials really come into their own. Far Niente has wide walk around teak laid side decks with really safe high bulwarks. Access around the whole main deck is seamless and very safe – this being particularly appealing when cruising offshore or taking on more challenging sea conditions.  There is low level lighting along the side decks.

As well as the fold-out hydraulic side boarding steps to starboard, access onboard is also possible through the beautifully styled canoe stern transom. Here the transom lowers to allow access onboard via a telescopic passerelle.

UPPER BRIDGE DECK:
Accessed via internal stairs forward of the saloon or aft from the main deck cockpit, Far Niente’s bridge deck is particularly large and is an excellent feature of the yacht. Forward is the captains bridge which has commanding views out to sea and overlooks the foredeck. Far Niente has the latest state of the art suite of Furuno navigation systems available. Aft of the bridge is the VIP saloon/sky lounge – this is a special place in which to relax and escape. Here you have expansive views across your anchorage as well as a coffee machine, pantry facilities and a double sofa.

Of real note are the hand crafted mahogany varnished doors which take you out onto the expansive teak laid aft deck. This open plan deck is a wonderful feature of Far Niente and very much the beating heart of the yacht during the day. The deck is well shaded by a large suspended awning which has an al-fresco teak dining table and 10 chairs under. There is also a very large halfmoon sunpad aft and 2 x reclining teak steamer chairs in which to enjoy. Take a walk and forward of the beautifully varnished pilothouse you find a secluded gem – a Portuguese bridge which offers private seating and protection from the elements, thanks to the high bulwarks and teak cap rail.
